Meet Lauren

I believe divorce can be an invitation to transformation!
— Lauren

In 2017, my life took an unfortunate turn. I went through a divorce, and with my children just 2 and 4 years old, I was overwhelmed by fear, uncertainty, and the pressure of single motherhood. I felt shame and grief over our new family dynamic but was determined to be the best mother I could. I realized that to truly show up for my children, I first needed to rediscover myself. This journey propelled me into taking a deeper look into what makes me happy and over the next couple years, uncovering a deep sense of self love that had been missing.

Then, in December 2021, a serendipitous encounter with Sahara Rose’s book, “Eat Feel Fresh” introduced me to Ayurveda. I was captivated by the holistic approach to health, the different mind-body types, and the potential for deep transformation. I consistently practiced yoga and always took interest in nutrition, health and wellness.  How did I never hear of this?!  Over the next week, synchronicities unfolded as a friend shared she was attending Ayurveda school (Shakti School), and a few days later my children gifted me a “Shakti” mat. I started to feel as though I was being nudged by the Universe.  But what was the message?  I was in a successful government job and being a single mom, I didn’t have time to go back to school. The next night, I had a dream (and it’s rare I remember my dreams) where I was helping others achieve wellness through balanced nutrition and lifestyle. I knew it was time to listen.

I answered the call and began Shakti School in January 2022, where I immersed myself for two years in the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.  I began to feel in tune with my body in ways I never had before, awakening a profound sense of wellness, self-awareness and appreciation for my true nature. I found my calling and was determined to share it with others. During my final year, I reduced my government job to part-time to nurture my new passion. In March 2023, I launched Monarch Ayurveda.

The journey culminated in April 2024, when I received my Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor certificate and left my 15-year career with the federal government. Though I’d invested deeply in my government career, the physical and mental toll had become undeniable, and Ayurveda had shown me that true wellness includes honoring our energy, purpose, and joy. Now, I am fully committed to supporting women in their own transformative journeys, helping them find holistic health, inner harmony, and empowerment with the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda, manifestation, heartfelt intention setting and unlocking the power of the mind.

Lauren also collaborates with Shilpika, an Ayurvedic Doctor and the owner of the Ayurveda Wellness House, to bring the transformative power of Ayurveda to the community. As the Director of Operations, Lauren curates impactful wellness events and educational workshops, fostering connection and growth. Together, they are dedicated to spreading awareness of Ayurveda’s profound ability to nurture the mind, body, and spirit.
