WHAT IS AYURVEDA?
Ancient Wisdom for Modern Living
Ayurveda translates to the "knowledge of life". Originating in India and still widely practiced there, Ayurveda is the oldest living form of medicine in the world. Modern day research in circadian medicine, the gut brain connection, ashwagandha, and turmeric etc. have their origins in Ayurveda. Many of us may struggle with stress, low energy, poor sleep, anxiety, depression or digestive issues on a daily basis - Ayurveda can help! Ayurveda believes that in order to achieve health and balance we must first gain awareness of ourselves and our life.
Natural Healing
Ayurveda is a nature-based system of healing that teaches us how to live in harmony with the rhythms and cycles within our environment and ourselves. Ayurveda addresses all aspects of healing and wellbeing for the body and mind such as nutrition, sleep, how we use our energy, movement, and daily self-care practices. Our bodies need for food, sleep and exercise change with each season. When we adapt our diet and lifestyle to honor each season and align our daily routines with our internal clocks, we prime our mind/body to achieve health and balance all 365 days of the year.
Individualized Approach
Different from Western medicine, Ayurveda believes in prevention and offers an individualized approach to health. There is no one size fits all approach. Understanding your Ayurvedic mind-body type, known as a "dosha", reveals a wealth of information about your tendencies, strengths, challenges, and predispositions to certain conditions. According to Ayurveda, when we don't live in alignment with our dosha, we can become unbalanced which can lead to poor health. Uncovering your unique dosha provides you with a road map to achieving a life of peace, balance and health that is unique to you.
